Every life is a story to tell—with an ending to write.
As a writer and death doula, I help people do both.
We can choose the legacy we leave.
Family history. Military experiences. Great loves. Sage advice. Career milestones. I capture life stories, memories, insights and highlights from the people who lived them in video interviews to create lasting mementos of a life well-lived for current and future generations.
Death can end a life or complete it.
Many people think about what makes a good life, but how many of us consider a good death? As a death doula, I can help you envision and plan for your final time on earth, and provide non-medical support, comfort and advocacy for you and your loved ones.

When my sister Nancy died in 2008 of a brain tumor at age 45, I realized that I am drawn to that quiet and special and sacred time that marks one's transition from Earth. As a writer, I also saw that the language we use around death and grief is often unhelpful and often inadequate to express our support and love.

In the past few years, my passion for words and stories and my interest in end of life started coming together. I began interviewing my mom, who is in her nineties, to capture her life stories. My cousin Andy Holtgreive and I launched a podcast called Talking to Death. I attended death doula training to learn how to provide non-medical support and comfort for people who are dying and the people who love and support them. I am ready to help you and the people you love tell your stories and explore how to approach death with less fear and more peace.
